Fluffy, orange-cream fur,
With dark-orange striping her back.
Her Halloween-orange eyes,
Shine like the newest diamonds from the finest mines.
Clumsily she climbs on the slippery counter-top,
As she noses her rose-pink nose into your breakfast cereal.
Her tail does a vivacious dance,
As she swats it around merrily.
She then lies in your cozy, delightful bed,
Coiled up like an exhausted snake,
As she dozes off lazily,
Her rosy nose whistling like a train awaiting departure.
Stuck on this ship,
With no where to go.
The waves crash against it,
While the winds blow.
In a North Pole-cold storm,
Stuck out at sea.
The water so dark,
As far as I could see.
I don't know what to do,
Or where to go.
The ship is sinking,
So low.
I'm going to drown,
In the ice-cold water.
As I sink,
Farther and farther.
This is how it's been,
For almost my whole life.
Thoughts and words,
As painful as a knife.
Thrashing inside me,
Slashing my thoughts with razor-sharp claws.
The blood rushes out,
As this creature tries to bust out.
Consuming me whole,
Devouring me physically and mentally.
Decimating my confidence,
And my sanity.
I fight it,
With no one's help.
I may survive,
Or I may fall.
As you take a walk on the beach,
The cotton-soft sand singes your feet like hot coals.
The salty, foamy water tickles your feet,
As you come closer to it.
The breeze cools your body off,
As you wade through the bathwater-warm water.
A wave splashes you,
And you are soaked from head to toe.
Shot through the heart,
By a bullet of guilt.
Weakened, wounded, and agonized.
Blood drains out of my body,
Until the wounds nearly kill me.
But no one really cares,
They are hurt nearly as bad as I am.
Agony,
Suffocates me throughout the night.
Blood-splattered conscience.
